PRESIDENT ARRASMITH’S COMMENTS
President Arrasmith asked for a motion to approve the minutes for the
August 1st, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting. Trustee Harris moved that the minutes of the August 1st, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting be approved. Trustee Bickers seconded the motion; the motion carried with all ayes on a roll call vote.
President Arrasmith then asked the Trustees to review the bids for the sidewalk repairs. Trustee Harris made a motion to hire A and R Mechanical Services at a cost of $38,427.13 to be paid from the RBI (Rebuild Illinois) Funds. Trustee Bickers seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
President Arrasmith then asked the Trustees to discuss repainting the basketball courts at a cost of $750 by Jeff Cross. Trustee Laurent made a motion to approve painting the basketball court at a cost of $750. Trustee Harris seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
ATTORNEY MILLER’S COMMENTS
Attorney Miller was absent.
JEFF WYANT’S COMMENTS
Village Maintenance Supervisor Wyant reported that he was done watering the newly planted trees and that the watering bags have been removed; he left the bracing on the trees.
Supervisor Wyant then asked if we could purchase a boom truck from Donnie Happ for $30,000. He stated that we could purchase it using the ARPA Relief Funds since it has a 45 foot crane on it that we could use for trimming trees. Trustee Gadeken made a motion to purchase the boom truck for $30,000 from the ARPA Funds. Trustee Bickers seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
Supervisor Wyant then asked if he could purchase a brush mower that attaches to the backhoe for $29,907. Trustee Bickers made a motion to spend up to $32,000 of the ARPA Funds to purchase a brush mower and any attachments needed for it. Trustee Laurent seconded the motion, the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
FINANCE REPORT
The financial reports were read by Trustee Hooker. Trustee Hooker made a motion to pay the bills; with the additions of $101 to Orkin and $242.19 to Rogards. Trustee Gadeken seconded the motion; the motion carried with all ayes on a roll call vote.
STREETS AND ALLEY
Trustee Gadeken had nothing to report.
WATER/SEWER/UTILITY
Trustee Harris had nothing to report.
PUBLIC PROPERTY
Trustee Bickers reported that there were no permits issued. Trustee Bickers also asked to have the discussion of fixing the electrical at the Community Building moved to next month's agenda; he is having difficulty getting people to show up to give bids. He also stated that it would be best to fix the electrical before repairing the drywall.
PARKS AND RECREATION
Trustee Laurent had nothing to report.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Trustee Schluter thanked the Trustees for the flowers for his father's funeral.
Trustee Bickers made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Gadeken seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote. The meeting was adjourned at 7:42pm.
