PRESIDENT ARRASMITH’S COMMENTS
President Arrasmith asked for a motion to approve the minutes for the
September 6th, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting. Trustee Harris moved that the minutes of the September 6th, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting be approved. Trustee Bickers seconded the motion; the motion carried with all ayes on a roll call vote.
President Arrasmith did not have any more comments.
ATTORNEY MILLER’S COMMENTS
Attorney Miller did not have any comments.
JEFF WYANT’S COMMENTS
Village Maintenance Supervisor Wyant asked if he should still be taking notes and pictures of abandoned vehicles in the Village since it's so hard for us to do anything about them. President Arrasmith responded that he should and Attorney Miller suggested bundling a few abandoned houses and cars together for the Village to start taking them to court.
FINANCE REPORT
The financial reports were read by Trustee Hooker. Trustee Hooker made a motion to pay the bills; with the additions of $456.57 to Caseys and $133.85 and $265.10 to Comcast. Trustee Bickers seconded the motion; the motion carried with all ayes on a roll call vote.
STREETS AND ALLEY
Trustee Gadeken was absent.
WATER/SEWER/UTILITY
Trustee Harris had Leah Ray speak about hosting a memorial run in honor of Katie Moore. Mrs. Ray stated that she will be hosting the run starting and ending at Winston's Old Bank on Saturday, November 5th. She stated that she should not need any of the roads blocked off for the race, however, the Trustees would like to close Railroad Street to the South of the American Legion building so that runners will have a place to congregate away from the truck harvest traffic. Mrs. Ray and her family would also like to purchase a plaque and plant a tree honoring Ms. Moore. She would like to plant the tree before the race and will await the Village's permission as to where she can plant it.
PUBLIC PROPERTY
Trustee Bickers reported that there were no permits issued. Trustee Bickers stated that he received a bid from Wingle Construction regarding fixing the electrical and drywall issues in the Community Building. They gave us a bid of $11,675 to fix the issues. Trustee Harris made a motion to spend up to $12,000 for Wingle Construction to repair the issues with the Community Building. Trustee Laurent seconded the motion; the motion was approved with all ayes on a roll call vote with Trustee Bickers abstaining.
PARKS AND RECREATION
Trustee Laurent had nothing to report.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Trustee Schluter asked about our current agreement with Ameren and if we were able to obtain cheaper rates. Clerk Fish and President Arrasmith explained that we have hired Simec to watch the competitors rates and they will let us know if they find one that is cheaper.
Trustee Bickers made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Laurent seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote. The meeting was adjourned at 7:26pm.
